Grace Rein
Managing Director, Writer & Producer
Grace Rein is an Australian Animation Producer and Writer-Creator with experience in film, television, and online narrative content. Most recently Grace worked as the 2D Supervising Producer at Flying Bark Productions, where she managed their slate of 2D shows including DTVA’s Emmy and Annie-award winning Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur and multi-awarding winning full-service series LEGO Monkie Kid. She currently works as a Production Manager at Animal Logic, where she’s also previously worked on feature films including The Lego Movie 2, Peter Rabbit, and Peter Rabbit 2, while she continues to write, develop, and produce personal film and TV projects alongside her full-time production work.
In 2018, Grace was selected for SPA's 'Ones to Watch' program where she was mentored by Jungle Entertainment's Bridget Callow-Wright, and she was a screenwriting finalist for her Just Noise original series pilot at the 2023 Austin Film Festival in both the Comedy Teleplay Pilot category and Rooster Teeth Women & Animation Fellowship prize. Most recently Grace has worked as a Consulting Producer on Screen Australia-funded D&D web series 1 for All, Creative Producer and Writer on the Screen Australia Generate-funded Dragon Friends: Dream Killers, a fictional series adaptation of the popular Dragon Friends D&D comedy podcast, Writer and Co-Producer on Nicole Delprado’s original animated gymnastics adventure series Flic Flac, and has been developing and co-writing an original Christmas feature film musical Chrissie, and animated musical TV series Just Noise. Grace has worked as a Creative Producer on several short form projects, including 'My Jumper, It Roars' (Winner, Best Short Film, Animaze 2023; Official Selection, Sydney Film Fest 2023) and 'On Hold - A Musical' (Winner, Best Australian Short Film, Flickerfest 2018; Official Selection, Sydney Film Fest 2018)
She is also a qualified lawyer, under-qualified improviser, long-time basketballer, short-term Japanese-language learner, who loves to write energetic, character-driven stories with a genre or fantastical twist, and is particularly drawn to animation, YA, ensemble casts, and anime, manga, graphic novel, and game adaptations.
